Mumbai, Apr 30: After a series of controversies that involved struggling actors, landlords in Mumbai are now fearing to rent out flats to aspiring actors.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, in the wake of recent controversies that brought into the limelight aspiring actors Simran Sood and Vijay Palande's involvement in the heinous murders of Arun Tikku and Karan Kakkad, landlords have now become more alert.

"Many housing societies have adopted this stand because of the unpleasant incidents," said Rakesh Shah, a broker in Oshiwara.

"The murder of Neeraj Grover was the breaking point. Who would have believed that a good-looking actress such as Maria Susairaj could have been involved in such a ghastly crime? We have told the members of our housing society to avoid having actors and models as tenants," said Amrit Thakur, chairman of a housing society in Versova.

Talking about the single woman moving to Mumbai he said, "The landlords suspect that they will bring in boyfriends, host late-night parties and, basically, create a ruckus."

Other stars who yearned to earn themselves a name in the tinselville but hogged the limelight for the wrong reasons include: Monica Bedi, who is accused of travelling on a fake passport with her the then gangster boyfriend Abu Salem, who was later arrested; Maria Susiaraj, an aspiring actress who wanted to foray into Bollywood was involved in the murder of TV executive, Neeraj Grover, who was brutally murdered by her Naval Officer boyfriend Emily Jerome.
