BJP-RSS start fighting over Bofors scam & Sonia Gandhi
Arun Jaitley, during an interview with CNN-IBN, overruled all allegations that the BJP colluded with the Congress to ensure Sonia Gandhi was not questioned in the Bofors case during the NDA rule.
"If you filed the chargesheet when you were there in power, how come no one took the critical, essential and obvious step of questioning Sonia Gandhi," said Mr Jaitley while answering the questions regarding investigation on Bofors scam during NDA rule.
However, RSS did not spare the NDA government. In its mouthpiece Organisaer, RSS said, "Successive governments of India knew who the culprits were and yet chose to look the other way."
"Several non-Congress governments came to power, including the one led by VP Singh who had vowed to bring the guilty to book within 100 days of becoming prime minister, but nothing much was done," reads the editorial of Organiser.
Raising several questions such as - who helped certain persons "cover-up" themselves in the scam; who helped and guided Quattrocchi leave the country; why did the Italian businessman, who was called a novice in arms deals, go with the prime minister to Sweden and how did he get the introductions - Organiser gave a big blow on the faces of the governments including NDA.
