Bal Thackeray refuses to meet 'Marathi Manoos' Anna Hazare

Mumbai, Apr 27: Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray denied to meet the anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Thursday, Apr 26 days after Thackeray questioned the importance of Gandhian's anti-corruption crusade.

Currently, Hazare is in Mumbai to meet political leaders to gather support for a strong Lokpal Bill among political parties. Anna is impressed by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray and met him in Dadar.

Speaking to the reporters about the Sena chief's refusal to meet him, Anna said, "If Bal Thackeray is not meeting me, it will not affect me. I am not meeting him for my selfish interest. I am meeting him as the issue (Lokayukta) is important for the state."

Defending Bal Thackeray, his son Uddhav Thackeray said that his father would not meet activist who is impressed by "corrupt people".

Responding to a question, Uddhav added, "Balasaheb would not meet him as long as Hazare is surrounded by corrupt people."
