Telangana row: 8 MPs suspended from Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Apr 24: Eight Telangana MPs have been suspended for four days from Lok Sabha after they repeatedly disrupted proceedings in the session on Tuesday, Apr 24.

The suspended MPs are Ponnam Prabhakar, M Jagannath, Madhu Yaskhi Goud, Balram Naik, G Viveknanda, KRG Reddy, Sukender Reddy Gutha and S Raj. The members were asked to leave the House, but they refused to leave.

During the session, the MPs raised slogans and waved placards demanding a separate state on Tuesday, Apr 24. This disruption forced Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to adjourn the session.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister P Chidambaram, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and Congress leader Ranee Narah requested the members to go back to their seats and maintain peace in the session.

Meanwhile, Mulayam Singh Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Sharad Yadav of Janata Dal (U) and and Gurudas Dasgupta of CPI were also present in the House.
