Earthquake: After B'lore, Chennai, Guj, tremors hit Kashmir
A disaster management cell official in Kashmir said, "An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 occurred at 2:20 am with its epicentre at India-China border in Ladakh region."
According to the official, the epicentre of the quake was 209 km east of Leh town near the border between Ladakh and Xinjiang region of China.
Earlier on Saturday, Tremors were felt across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Satara, Pune, Nashik, Solapur, Kolapur and Belgaum in Karnataka.
Another earthquake measuring 8.9 on Richter scale hit Sumatra region, Indonesia. Quakes were also felt in Singapore, Thailand and was centered 33 km beneath the ocean.
A tsunami warning was issued to 28 countries following the earthquake, which was later withdrawn.
Tremors were felt across Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar and several other cities situated on the eastern coast of India.
