Teacher prevents student from cheating, crushed to death


Chandigarh, Apr 9: Preventing a pupil from copying proved costly for a teacher after he was allegedly crushed to death by two youths in Sonepat, Haryana, said police.

According to the police, a car was run over the 37-year-old Rakesh Kumar by two youths identified as Vikram and Hariom in a fit of rage, as he prevented their friend from copying in the 12th board exams.

He succumed to his injuries on his way to the hospital. The deceased was a teacher at the Ramjas Public School in Sonepat.

"We have arrested Vikram today, while efforts were on to arrest Hariom," said Sonepat DSP Surinder Malik.
