Nitin Gadkari's aide exposed in over Rs 1,000 cr coal scam
The report, which has been tabled on Monday, Apr 9, put light on the facts that one of the close aides of Gadkari, Ajay Sancheti was allocated a deal by Jharkhand state administration in a throwaway price.
The scam, according to the CAG report, caused the nation more than Rs 1,000 crore loss. Chief Minister Raman Singh's government may face the wrath of the report as it accused the state government of triggering the entire coal scam.
According to the CAG report, while the market price of a coal block in the region was Rs 552 per metric ton, Jharkhand state administration signed the deal permitting to give a coal block to SMS infrastructure at Rs 129.60 per metric ton. SMS infrastructure is owned by Gadkari's aide Sancheti and the deal was signed in 2007.
