New Delhi, April 6: In an apparent expression of serious resentment at the way the Andhra Pradesh party affairs were being run, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has reportedly denied to meet Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and PCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana.

The trio's much-anticipated Delhi visit was confined to meetings with AICC general secretary Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad. It is also learnt that Sonia possibly wanted to give a clear warning to them to mend their ways, win the ensuring by elections before meeting her. While sources also said that she would not meet the trio before getting Mr Azad’s report that they resolved their differences.

Reacting to the matter, senior leaders from Kiran Kumar Reddy's government have denied that the Chief Minister had tried to meet Congress president. The three leaders went to the national capital only to discuss by-poll preparedness with the Congress senior leader Azad.

Due to the internal squabbling between the government led by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the party led by APCC president Botsa Satyanarayana, the Congress high command has summoned both the leaders besides Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha to New Delhi early this week and instructed them to forget about their personal agenda.

However, Mr Satyanarayana said to media that there was "no rift" among them. "We are united; there is no truth in reports that the high command has admonished and warned us."
