Karnataka: Bangalore Airport to be renamed after Kempegowda?
SM Krishna, External Affairs Minister had sent a proposal to Singh to approve the new name for the airport and now the aviation ministry has accepted the proposal.
Singh informed the media that the proposal will be presented before the next Union Cabinet, as claimed by sources.
When the airport become operational, Centre ignored the suggestions to name it after 12th century social reformer Basaveshwara and decided to keep the name as Bengaluru International Airport.
