Karnataka: Chief Minister Gowda fires Yeddyurappa loyalist
Jagadeesha was appointed by the former tainted minister BS Yeddyurappa during his tenure as the state's Chief Minister.
Gowda's move comes against the backdrop of the political turmoil Karnataka is witnessing now. While BS Yeddyurappa knocked the corridors of the BJP to reinstate him as the Chief Minister of the state, Gowda has maintained that the party will see no change in leadership.
Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa announced a state-wide tour to take stock of areas hit by drought.
Lashing out clearly at the former Chief Minister, Gowda had earlier said, "It is not the time for organising felicitation functions and conventions when 123 taluks are hit by drought and people are struggling to get even drinking water."
In reply to Gowda, Yeddyurappa said, "The world looks yellow to those suffering from jaundice. They will find fault with whatever I do. I am not bothered about such people. I will go on with my job of reaching out to the people."
