New Delhi, Apr 1: Union Defence Minister AK Antony may face six months imprisonment for snubbing the allegation of bribery offered to General VK Singh on the sale of Tatra trucks to the Indian Army.

It has been found that Antony had violated the legal duty rules when Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad brought the bribery allegation in a written notice. Even, General VK Singh verbally discussed the issue with Antony in 2010.

When anyone becomes "aware of the commission of or of the intention of any other person to commit" the offences listed in Section 39 CrPC, he "shall ... forthwith give information" to the nearest magistrate or police officer of "such commission or intention".

According to the law of our nation, anyone violates Section 39 CrPC are punishable under Section 176 of the IPC, that is maximum of six months imprisonment.

Meanwhile Antony had to come up with a "reasonable excuse" for not any legal action over the issue.
