The MHA Mahindra Stadium was chosen out of eight venues across India based upon the feedback from the players playing in the league that “the quality of the turf and floodlights is superb”, according to WSH.
MHA Mahindra Stadium will also host the second semi-final to be played on April 1, 2012 at 9 PM. Bangalore's Karnataka State Hockey Association (KSHA) Stadium will host the first semi-final on April 1 at 7 PM.
Preeti Mehta, Event Director of World Series Hockey said, “The response from the fans has been overwhelming at all the eight venues, but we had to finally zero in on two venues for the Semi-finals and Final. WSH wanted to give the best makeover to the MHA Mahindra Stadium, and we are pleased that the players are very happy with the quality of the turf and the floodlights. The competition for the league has been sensational, and we hope to dazzle the hockey lovers with spectacular shows in the Semi-finals and Final. We are confident that both Bengaluru and Mumbai will rock with hockey.”
