Anna sounds warning to 14 corrupt UPA Mins; wants FIR by Aug

New Delhi, Mar 26: With anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare's one-day token fast against the illegal mining mafia in Madhya Pradesh and the killing of IAS officer Narendra Kumar, Anna has issued a fresh ultimatum of sorts against the corrupt Cabinet Ministers in the UPA. He has demanded that FIRs be registered against 14 "corrupt" Cabinet Ministers by Aug failing which Anna will organize a 'jail bharo' agitation.

Anna had given an extended deadline to the government on Sunday, to pass a strong Lokpal Bill by 2014. The token fast at the Jantar Mantar on Sunday, say Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal naming 14 Cabinet Ministers whose names were involved in corruption cases. Ending his fast, Anna declared, "FIRs be registered against the corrupt (Union) ministers by August or there will be 'jail bharo' (fill the jail) agitation across the country. We have to be ready for this. Date will be announced later."

Among the Ministers who were named corrupt were Sharad Pawar, SM Krishna, P Chidambaram, Praful Patel, Kapil Sibal, Kamal Nath, Farooq Abdullah, Ajit Singh, Sri Prakash Jaiswal, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Vilasrao Deshmukh, MK Azhagiri and GK Vasan.

The occasion also saw two anti-corruption giants, Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev coming together in their fight against graft. The tie-up was confirmed by Ramdev after he commented, "Anna and I will fight together on issues like black money, corruption and in bringing about a change in the administrative system."

Stressing on the need to have Right to Reject, Anna said, "We were requesting the government to bring Right to Reject. We will now not go after the government. We now have to use pressure tactics to get the government to respond."
