Mumbai Airport: 3 Jet Airways flights escape major accident
The Air Traffic Controller (ATC) issued an emergency call when it noticed that a Nagpur-based Jet Airways flight was descending to land and an another plane was waiting to take off while the third plane was to leave the runway.
Later a Jet Airways spokesperson issued an official statement describing the situation. "As advised by the ATC, flight no. 9W 2073 from Mumbai to Udaipur had to reject take off at very low speed. This was due to another aircraft that was waiting to clear runway. The estimated departure of the Mumbai to Udaipur flight was 1850hrs. The flight departed with 55 minutes delay," reads the statement.
