Sources said that, TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to demand a partial rollback on the fare hike when the Union Railway Budget comes up for discussion in both houses of Parliament.
It is learnt that Congress-led UPA government is not ready to change railways minister at this stage. There is also speculation that TMC's choice of Railway Minster in place of Dinesh Trivedi is going to be Mukul Roy, who is likely to take over the new post as early as the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, TMC chief Mamata Banejee is in Delhi claiming it as a routine visit, but she will discuss the contentious issue connecting to railway minister.
