Rail Budget: Atleast 100,000 staff to be hired by railways
The railways had hired 80,000 in 2011-13.
A government data from 2009-10 reveals that Indian railways is one of the world's largest employers.
Meanwhile, there will be no steep hike in fares, said Dinesh Trivedi.
Talking about the hike in fares he said that the railways will see Rs 2p/km for suburban passengers, Rs 5p/km for sleeper class, Rs 10p/km paisa for 3AC including chair and Rs 15p/km 1AC in passenger fares in the last 10 years.
