Rail Budget: 75 new express trains announced

New Delhi, Mar 14: Dinesh Trivedi, Railway Minister on Wednesday announced 75 new Express trains, 21 passenger trains, including 75 new services in Mumbai suburban rail network, while presenting Rail Budget 2012-13.

He emphasised over the safety of and modernisation of railways. [See complete list of new trains introduced in budget]

"My focus will be safe safety, safety, safety," said Trivedi.

"I vow to target zero deaths," he said.

"I also propose to set up an independent railway safety authority, as recommended by an expert group headed by the former Atomic Energy Commission chairman Anil Kakodkar," he said.
