40 Prisoners to breathe fresh air in West Bengal
Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat, Mamata said that the prisoners lodged in jail for a long time, might not have approached courts to release them due to legal complications.
According to Mamata, release would bring the prisoners to the social mainstream and help them to lead a peaceful and normal life.
The State government formed “Bandi Mukti Committee” and it had recommended the release of 52 political prisoners out of which, 30 prisoners have been released so far, Mamata added.
