Andhra Pradesh: Girl beaten up for speaking Telugu in school

Hyderabad, Mar 9: In a shocking incident, a fourth class student was allegedly beaten mercilessly by the school principal for speaking in Telugu to her friends at the English medium school three days ago.

The incident came to light on Mar 8 when her parents lodged a complaint at Kancharapalem police station against the principal, MSM Murthy. The police registered the complaint and took Murthy into custody.

According to the victim's claim, the principal, Murthy had taken her to his office chambers and beat her with a stick for speaking to her friends in Telugu.

Meanwhile, the victim was admitted at King George Hospital, Hyderabad.
