Chennai, Mar 8: DMK party members seem to be getting into trouble one after the other when the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) raided yet another minister. Former Tamil Nadu minister for Information and Publicity, Parithi Ilamvazhuthi was raided by vigilance officials on Thursday on charges of accumulating disproportionate assets much higher than his known source of income.

A statement made by the DVAC revealed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the Minister for acquiring movable and immovable assets to the tune of Rs.156,20,745 between Jun 1, 2006 and Mar 31, 2010.

The DVAC officials carried out raids in Ilamvazhuthi's houses and that of his mother and brother.

The umpteenth raid on various DMK Ministers who are accused in various corruption charges, the latest raids come as no surprise. The DMK had called it a witch hunt by the ruling AIADMK. Ramachandran, K.R. Periakaruppan, A. Tamilarasi, Thangam Thenarasu and N.K.K.P. Raja.
