Earthquake in Delhi, North India; School roof collapses
The epicentre of the tremor measuring 4.9 on Richter Scale was Bahadurgarh in Haryana. Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh also felt the tremor.
People in Delhi informed that they rushed out of their houses and offices soon after the tremor. People were afraid that another earthquake might be felt. Meanwhile, sources from Gurgaon informed that office buildings in the city have been told to evacuate following the tremor.
Recently, an emergency mock drill was conducted in the national capital to make people better prepared for all kind of natural calamities including earthquake. Many metro stations were shut and simulated situations were also staged like collapse of flyovers, crack in metro pillars, damage to hospitals and collapse of residential buildings due to the imaginary 7.8 magnitude quake in Delhi.
