Bhopal, Mar 3: Saba Farooqi, one of the key accused in Shehla Masood murder case, has been sent to police custody till Mar 6 and if sources are to be believed, tainted BJP MLA Dhruv Narayan Singh soon will follow Saba. The investigative agency Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to arrest the the BJP MLA regarding the same murder case as CBI sources informed that they have enough proofs against him (the BJP MLA) and the RTI activist's murderer.

Saba, a close friend of woman architect Zahida Pervez, was arrested on Friday and a special CBI court in Indore on Saturday, Mar 3 sent Saba to police custody till Mar 6.

Meanwhile, CBI sources claimed that they got "clinching evidence" against Pervez, Saba and the BJP MLA as they found call details of Pervez and seized a diary from her (Pervez's) residence. CBI, while taking Saba under custody, stated, "She (Farooqui) is allegedly believed to be a friend of the alleged conspirator in the killing and is understood to be aware of the crime and believed to be assisting in the conspiracy."

The investigative agency searched Pervez's home where it recovered a diary in which the CBI officials found a crucial entry on the date Aug 16, the day Masood was murdered at around 11:15 am outside her home.

Pervez in her own handwriting had noted in the diary, "I was depressed. Saquib had called around 11:15. He said 'mubarak ho. Ghar ke samne kaam ho gaya'." In the evening, Pervez is said to have celebrated with Farooqui, sources said.

Sources said that the agency found a streak of Pervez's obsession with the BJP MLA with whom she had very close relation and this had resulted in resentment for Masood who was also his good friend.

The entry with regards to the alleged mobile call made soon after the Masood's murder was corroborated by call details of Saquib Ali, a good friend of Pervez who is said to have hired the killers, they said.
