Bellary, Feb 29: Gali Janardhan Reddy, former Karnataka minister and the main accused in the illegal mining scam will be produced in the CBI court in Bangalore on Mar 2 in connection with the Associated Mining Company (AMC) scam.

A prisoner transit warrant has been issued to the superintendent of Chanchalguda Jail for the same, where Janardhan Reddy is currently lodged.

An FIR against the AMC was issued by the CBI in Nov 2011.

"The PT warrant has been sent to the superintendent. CBI joint director V.V. Lakshminarayana has also written to us regarding the same," said Sunil Kumar, Jail Additional IG.

According to sources, Chanchalguda jail authorities are making arrangements to shift Gali amid high security.

"Even if Janardhan Reddy gets bail in Hyderabad, he will remain in the jail till he gets the bail in the Karnataka case. He will be produced on a PT warrant and the court will remand him to judicial custody. He will be lodged in the Bengaluru jail. CBI may take him into police custody with the court’s permission and question him regarding the AMC case," said a senior police official.
