Arvind Kejriwal cornered; forced to cast his vote in UP
Kejriwal was intending to skip the voting as he was traveling to Goa on a campaign trail. After he was cornered by a group of people to exercise his voting rights, he was accompanied by them to the polling booth nearby. On reaching there, Kejriwal found that his name was not in the voters list. He had to come out without exercising his voting franchise.
UPDATE: It has been reported that Kejriwal was stopped by media personnel in the airport and forced to return to cast his vote. On being accosted by the media, Kejriwal said, "We had planned our Goa visit a month back. We made a mistake by missing the election date. But today when I spoke to the organisers, they said I can cast my vote and leave for Goa later."
This incident is sure to lead to a lot of justification on the part of Team Anna who have been actively campaigning among the public to exercise their voting rights and advocating that each vote counts.
