Saif, who was arrested on Wednesday, Feb 22 and later was released on bail, filed a complaint against Mr Sharma claiming that Mr Sharma's father-in-law first hit him (Saif) and he (the actor) acted in self-defence. The actor alleged that his eye was swollen after he was punched.
The police, meanwhile, said that the actor's complaint does not stand as he failed to show any medical report. Colaba police have already interrogated 15 people including the father-in-law of Mr Sharma and waiters of the restaurant.
On Thursday, Salman Khan's sister-in-law, a model and actress Malaika Arora Khan has broke silence and come up in support of Saif Ali Khan.
Mrs Khan on Thursday, Feb 23 said that she supported what Saif had said while defending and clarifying the cloud over the controversial issue.
Saif, however, claimed that checking the entire incident on CCTV camera would bring out the truth adding that he himself wasn't proud of what happened.
A complaint was filed by Iqbal Sharama, the NRI who was allegedly hit by Saif Ali Khan fracturing his nose.
The actor was dining with his girlfriend and Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor along with Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora and her husband when the brawl took place.
According to a neighbour of Iqbal Sharama, the duo were friends and this was just a publicity stunt for his upcoming movie 'Agent Vinod'. Though Saif later claimed that the brawl was not staged.
