J&K: LeT commander killed in Sopore encounter
During the battle, an army personnel was also wounded. According to the police sources, the encounter was a huge setback for LeT.
However, a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army cordoned off the Noorabad area after they got information about the presence of militants in that place. The incident took place after militants opened fire which resulted in an encounter and it lasted for 20 hours.
The national newspaper The Indian Express quoted Imtiyaz Hussain, Superintendent of Police of Sopore as saying , “We have killed Aakash Badr. He was deputy of Abdullah Ooni.We have recovered the body. The operation continues as we are looking if there are other militants in the area."
Meanwhile, a house was demolished in which the deceased militant was hiding, the militant used that house as hide-out place, police claimed.
