Brussels, Feb 21: After halting its oil supply to Britain and France, Iran has now threatened to stop oil supply to more European countries if they continued their hostile attitude towards Tehran, said Ahmad Qalebani, Deputy Oil Minister.

The European countries include - Portugal, Italy, Germany, Spain, Netherlands and Greece.

"Certainly if the hostile actions of some European countries continue, the export of oil to these countries will be cut," the Oil Minister was quoted by the Al Arabiya network.

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in a letter to the European oil refining companies asked them either to sign long term contracts for a period of two to five years or be refrained of supplies.

Meanwhile, oil prices hit a nine month high after Iran stopped its export to France and Britain, according to analysts.
