The investigative agency also claimed that many of the witnesses in the case have gone missing and many of them have been manipulated to withdraw their earlier statements.
Reiterating their claim that many influential politicians are involved in the Bhanwari missing and murder case, the CBI also asserted that they pursued a fair investigation.
"Out of 17 accused, 16 have been arrested and one is absconding, attempts to arrest whom are going on. But the CBI is constantly under pressure because of the involvement of high-profile persons and the witnesses are also being threatened thereby affecting the investigation," said CBI counsel Panne Singh.
All eyes have now fallen on Congress as its former minister - Mahipal Maderna was arrested and is one of the main accused in the case.
The auxiliary nurse, Bhanwari Devi was missing and investigation revealed that she was kidnapped and murdered allegedly by the goons sent by Maderna and his other aides.
