The senior Congress leader had made a statement on Feb 19 saying that the Telangana Bill will not be tabled in the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament and Congress-led UPA government has not taken any final decision on the contentious Telangana issue so far.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders were shocked that such a seasoned leader had made such a statement on the contentious issue at the time when the party is taking the by-election win as a life-and-death issue for the Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
Sources said that Jaipal Reddy's controversial statement is likely to harm the Kiran Kumar Reddy government in forthcoming by-elections.
Earlier, the two Congress leaders had resigned from the party and joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). Moreover, the two resigned leaders are now contesting as TRS candidates in the coming by-elections.
