Iran flexes muscle; stops oil sales to Britain, France
"Oil sales to British and French companies have ceased," said Ali Reza Nikzad Rahbar, spokesman in a statement on the ministry's official website.
"We have taken steps to deliver our oil to other countries in the place of British and French companies," he said.
Although the countries were not affected after Iran's take, France and Britain are included in an EU decision to stop buying Iranian oil in an announcement that was made in Jan and will be in effect from Jul.
Meanwhile, Spain imports 12% (161,000 barrels per day), Italy 13% of its oil (185,000 barrels per day) and Greece bought 30% (103,000 bpd), according to the International Energy Agency..
