Manipur, Feb 19: After Election Commission issued a notice for violating the model code of conduct over Sub-quota row, BJP President Nitin Gadkari on Saturday, Feb 18, accused Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid and Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma for challenging the commission on the issue at the behest of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

While addressing the election rally, Nitin said "They have dared the Election Commission to do whatever it likes. It has all been at the instance of Sonia Gandhi who has not yet broken her silence on the matter."

Slamming both Khurshid and Verma, he said that they were the communal faces of the Congress.

On the other hand, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had promised to raise the sub-quota for Muslims. Asking question to the oppositions, BJP leader said "from where these leaders will extend reservation to the community."

Pointing out Salman Khurshid's statement over Sub-quota, BJP leader Rajnath Singh said that Congress spoke about the quota before the elections only to woo Muslims voters. He further said that BJP is not against reservation, but the party is against caste-based reservation as it would divide the country into parts.
