Karnataka CM's helpers cost exchequer Rs 70L per month

Bangalore, Feb 18: Karnataka Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda has 287 people to assist him in his day-to-day activities, who together earn Rs 70 lakh as salary every month, reports TOI.

Reports further revealed that CM has 237 personal at Vidhana Sabha, which adds monthly salary up to Rs 56.88 lakh. Moreover, Gowda has 21 people at his home office and 29 people at his home to assist him.

Furthermore, the reports said that the number of people has been increasing at the CM's office due to indiscriminate appointments from various departments and arbitrary recruitment of people who are close to officers, advisors and the CM on contract. All the top officers are from IAS, state service and other departments.

Currently, Sadananda Gowda's principal secretary I S N Prasad earn the highest salary of Rs 1,31,641 per month, M Lakshminarayana, principal secretary II earns Rs 1,01,532 and economic advisor K V Raju's earns Rs 1,10,852 a month.

The secretariat has several sections which include administration, development, CM's relief fund, nomination, government of India section, computer, press, Janaspandana Cell and inward and outward sections for proper and effective deliver of the duties and responsibilities.
