Government of India
Chennai, Feb 17: Seeking to downplay UPA ally Trinamool Congress opposing the creation of the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Government today said it would take steps to resolve the issue.

"The government will talk to them. The Prime Minister and the Home Minister will talk to them...We will try to resolve the issue", Minister of State in the PMO V Narayanasamy told reporters at the airport here.

He said he came to know that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had also taken up the issue.

Expressing concern that the NCTC would infringe on the federal rights of states, Banerjee had asked the Prime Minister to "review and withdraw" the decision.
