Karuna, DMK mins benefitted from TN schemes: Jaya

Tiruchy, Feb 15: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday lashed out at opposition party DMK accusing that, while AIADMK government’s schemes are aimed for the development of the people, DMK government's schemes aimed at benefitting DMK leader M Karunanidhi's family.

Jayalalithaa gave an example of DMK's free colour TV scheme and said that it was for the benefit of  Karunanidhi's family, who owned a cable TV network.

Praising her government, Jayalalithaa said that over Rs 1,000 crore was provided to build one lakh houses for the victims who lost their houses in the aftermath of cyclone Thane. Adding to that, She pointed out at the rehabilitation plan worth Rs 790 crore that was announced for the benefit of farmers.

Free milch cows and goats were provided to the villagers so that it would help them generate income and to develop their self-reliance. While attending functions, Jayalalithaa reminded people that she was fulfilling her poll promises.

Under the Social Welfare Department, Jayalalithaa has distributed the welfare assistance. Besides laptops and free cows, she reminded the people of the green house projects, which were handed over to the beneficiaries.
