Rahul Gandhi to now lock horns with Narendra Modi?
With an eye on the upcoming Assembly election in Gujarat by the end of this year, Modi is a likely choice for the BJP as the Prime Minister. There are also reports that Modi's Hindutva image is taking a beating in recent times owing to factional fights within the BJP as well as the anti-incumbency factor. The fact that he has irked the BJP High command has also gone down well with certain elements in the state.
It has been stated that Rahul is expected to play a larger role after the UP elections and not limit himself to the Youth Congress and NSUI affairs. The added fact on why Rahul will concentrate on Gujarat is that it will impact and hopefully dent the BJP's prospects in the Assembly elections in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh that is slated to go to polls next year.
