TN: No relief for Sasikala's relative, bail plea dismissed

Chennai, Feb 7: The Tamil Nadu district court on Monday ordered Ravanan, a close relative of Sasikala, to be kept in police custody for two days. Ravanan has been accused of cheating a contractor.

Adinathan, the Principal District Judge dismissed the hearing for bail petition as they think that if released on bail, he would tamper with evidences.

RaviKumar, a contractor at Sirumugai had filed a complaint against him. According to the complaint, Ravanan had abducted him on Oct 9 and asked Rs 10 lakh ransom to release him. Ravanan was arrested on Jan 27 on charges of abduction for ransom, extortion and criminal conspiracy.

In his complaint, RaviKumar claimed that he was kept in an oil go-down and his friend delivered the money.

Last week, Krishnamurthy was taken for investigation by the Chennai police, after he filed a case against Ravanan.
