New Delhi, Feb 4: Judge OP Saini has dismissed Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy's petition against Home Minister P Chidambaram to make him the co-accused in the 2G spectrum scam.

The Supreme Court had earlier deferred the decision on whether Home Minister P Chidambaram needs to be probed on his involvement in the 2G spectrum scam. The decision left to the trial court to decide whether Chidambaram needs to be made a co-accused in the 2G scam.

Swamy has spoken in the aftermath of the cancellation of the probe that he will appeal in the High Court. In the event that the case was dismissed in the High Court, Swamy stated that he is ready to go to any extent to bring the corrupt to book.[Read: Chidambaram's D-day marked - Saturday, 12:15pm]

Swamy has been quoted as saying to reporters following the verdict, "I am surprised because my evidence against Chidambaram was complete.I will give a detailed statement tomorrow after I read the details of the judgment." He added, "I am not disappointed because i am expecting order reversal in higher court. This is a part of the game, it has been like this for me in the 2G case."

In anticipation of the landmark verdict, Chidambaram had reportedly cancelled his visit to Madurai and Tirunelveli and he is expected to meet PM Manmohan Singh sometime later to update him about the court proceedings.
