Lucknow, Feb 3: It seems that people in Uttar Pradesh have forgotten about the sensitive issue - Babri Masjid demolition and the controversy over Ram-Janmabhoomi temple. The speculation surfaced at the time when many started presuming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which faced tremendous criticism over the issue, may win election in Ayodhya during the assembly poll 2012 in Uttar Pradesh.

Locals in the temple city believe that BJP may win the seat from Ayodhya and Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) or Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) may fail to hold BJP's track behind. It seems that BJP candidate for this Assembly seat, Lallu Singh has won the hearts of locals.

Lallu Singh's down-to-earth nature and amicability is believed to have helped him reach to the aam-aadmi. Media report quoted a local shop-keeper in Ayodhya as saying, "Most MLAs hanker after gunners, security and a cavalcade of vehicles but not Lallu Singh."

Citing the response of the people towards the BJP, it seems that people indeed have left behind their wounds over Babri Masjid and Ram-Janmabhoomi row.

Here it can be mentioned that other political parties such as Congress, SP, BSP are also continuing their campaigning ahead of the crucial poll in the state. Priyanka Gandhi on Friday, Feb 3 reached Rae Bareli and Amethi for her second-term campaign for Rahul Gandhi and Congress.
