2G: Chidambram gets breather, case to move to trial court

New Delhi, Feb 2: The Supreme Court has also pronounced its verdict on Home Minister P Chidambaram's involvement in the 2G spectrum scam. The apex court has ruled that the case will be moved to the special CBI trial court. The verdict can be seen as a temporary breather to Chidambaram, who was increasingly had to face some finger pointing in the spectrum allocation scam. The role of Home Minister P Chidambaram was probed with petitioner Subramanian Swamy vehemently stating that he was an equal partner in the 2G conspiracy.

The Supreme Court has stated that the special CBI court will have to decide if Chidambaram's role in the spectrum scam need to be probed or not. The trial court will take up Chidambaram's case on Feb 4. [Read: SC to seal Chidambaram's fate in the 2G scam today]
