Now AIADMK divided; Jayalalithaa expels Sasikala's brother

Chennai, Jan 27: In an other setback for Sasikala Natarajan and her relatives, AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa expelled Suntharavathanam - brother of Jayalalithaa's former close aide - Sasikala.

Within a gap of one month, Jayalalithaa shocked all after declaring her decision to expel Suntharavathanam and his wife Santhanalakshmi from the party. The AIADMK chief had earlier booted out Sasikala and many more relatives of the expelled leader.

Sasikala was expelled over the allegation that she and her other family members tried to interfere in the state and party administration. Earlier, it was reported that the BJP leaders moved the district president seeking legal action against Sasikala.

The charges against Sasikala and her relatives - Sudhagar, Ravanan, Kannan, Govindaraj and Sivakumar include attempt to grab 1.2 acres of land that was bought in 2011 by KR Radhakrishnan, party district vice-president through a bank auction.
