New Delhi, Jan 25: Claiming that the UPA government has gone into a 'coma', BJP on Wednesday said it has lost credibility both at home and abroad due to a spate of corruption charges against it and its failure to deal with security and economy related issues.

"Government is in coma. It is not yet dead. Therefore, the doctor cannot issue a death certificate... being led by a Prime Minister whose hands are tied...the government lacks direction and is unable to fight corruption," party president Nitin Gadkari said here.

He said the government lacked vision and leadership to lead the nation which is facing problems on the security as well as economic front.

"It has lost its credibility at home and abroad," he alleged.

Gadkari was releasing a CD to mark one year of 'Bharat Ekta Yatra' by the party's youth wing which had planned to hoist the national flag at Srinagar's Lal Chowk.

Accusing Congress of indulging in appeasement of the minority community, he said while no party leader has gone to the village of Inspector MC Sharma, killed in the Batla House encounter, several leaders of the ruling party had been making a beeline to Azamgarh to meet the relatives of the alleged terrorists gunned down in the incident.

"A Congress general secretary claims the encounter was fake while the Home Minister says it was genuine. I don't know who is speaking the truth," he said.
