Kashmiri student attacked in MP, Omar talks to MP CM

New Delhi, Jan 22: After some assailants shot a Kashmiri student in Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday discussed the issue with Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The assailants shot the Kashmiri student at a bus stand in Ujjain. Later the injured student was shifted to district government hospital.

"Spoke to the CM of MP regarding Ujjain shooting of Kashmiri youth. He has assured that guilty will be punished. He also promised to provide security to other Kashmiri boys," Omar tweeted.

According to reports, Shabbir Ahmed, the victim was doing his M Phil in English from Ujjain’s Vikram University. He was waiting for a bus at the daylight when two unidentified youths attacked him.
