Ahmedabad, Jan 17: Surendranagar city in Gujarat featured hoardings of suspended IPS cop, Sanjeev Bhatt across appealing people to join Congress against the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi.

According to the members of the Surendranagar district Congress committee, the billboards were put up across in Surendranagar by the party for Congress' Satkarma fast against Modi's Sadhbhavna fast.

Congress members claimed that the billboards were put across after taking the consent of Sanjiv Bhatt. The same was however refuted by Arjun Modhwadia, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president and Sanjiv Bhatt.

"We had not put up any posters of Sanjiv Bhatt. It was some other organization, not associated with the Congress that had put up these hoardings," said Arjun Modhwadia.

"There cannot be any compromise and hence let the battle continue - Sanjiv Bhatt, IPS," the poster read.

"We had put up the hoardings couple of days before and these were sent to district Congress by Bhatt himself. We just got them painted large and put up all over Surendranagar city," said Bhalaji Solanki, Surendranagar district Congress President.

"The picture and the poem of Bhuchung Sonam which was quoted in my letter to Narendra Modi are in the public domain and can be used by anyone. However, the claim of Bhalaji Solanki suggesting that I sent him the hoardings is absolutely fanciful and ridiculous. I am glad that the hoardings have been taken down," said Bhatt.
