Land Scam: FIR to be filed against V.S. Achuthanandan
The FIR will be filed under the the Prevention of Corruption Act on Friday, Jan 13 and will be submitted to the Calicut Vigilance Court.
The FIR will be filed under Sections-13 (1) (D) Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120 (Criminal conspiracy) and 201 (Disappearance of evidence).
Violating government norms, Achuthanandan had allotted government land to his relatives in Kasargod, Kerala during his tenure as the chief minister.
Achuthanandan, however, called the whole plot a conspiracy against him by the ruling government. He also offered to quit as the leader of opposition in Kerala Assembly, which was however rejected by the party's central leadership.
"Achuthanandan stands tallest as a leader who has never compromised in his fight against corruption and that has been proved during the last assembly polls," said Sitaram Yechuri, CPI(M) polit bureau member.
