AIIMS
New Delhi, Jan 9: It is the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) that is caught in the latest scam after five people were arrested for allegedly helping people pass the MD exam in a fraudulent manner. The police reportedly got a tip off that the exam papers were leaked that led to the expose.

Among those arrested includes a doctor, two MBA students and others. The police who are investigating the matter said that more arrests are likely. The doctor and two MBA students were arrested.

On the details of the case, the police added that the gang behind the scam was well-organized. They stated that two members of the gang used to go to the examination centre, scan the paper with the help of their phone and later send them to the control room.

The people sitting in the control rooms would then solve the complex papers and pass them over to the students who are seated in other centres through bluetooth in mobile phones.

A police official has been quoted as saying, "The gang hired hired MBA students, who used to go to exam centre. They used to scan the question papers through high-end mobile phones. Using blue tooth, the gang then provided the answers to the candidates who paid them."

The MD examination in 2012 was conducted on Sunday with as many as 12,000 aspirants taking the exam at 156 centers across India. The police are now trying to ascertain if the same gang was involved in such acts earlier as well.
