Assembly Polls: BJP to give laptops, data card to candidates

Lucknow, Jan 9: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will soon provide data card with internet connection and laptops to its candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in a bid to keep them updated with important information and news.

Reports reveal that the party leaders have decided to keep an eye on important news and will email it to the candidates, so as to help them in their campaign.

“The main objective of giving laptops to the candidates is to keep them updated with information and facilitate communication. They could also use it for management of poll expenditure,” said Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the party’s national vice-president and in charge of the UP poll campaign.

He further said that candidates could use the laptops for sending videos and photographs of their public meetings and technically handicapped people could hire people for the job till the election period.

According to a party leader, some district office and all the six regional offices have been given internet connection and others will get it by Jan 15. He also said that the candidates would get the laptops after Jan 15.

The party will also monitor the movements of campaign vehicles by the GPS system and key out coordintes for landing of helicopters safely of star campaigners.
