Uma Bharati fishing for troubled waters in Kushwaha row?
She has threatened that she will not lead the party in UP, fight elections or campaign in UP unless Kushwaha was removed.
Meanwhile, there are sources within the party that has claimed that she was part of the decision to induct Kushwaha into the party and that she was only raising a ruckus to contest the Uttar Pradesh elections.
The Congress is also making most of the opportunity to mount attacks on the BJP for inducting scam-tainted Kushwaha into the party. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi commented sarcastically that the BJP should create an internal Lokpal instead of giving a petition to the President. He tweeted, "BJP need not petition President on Lokpal; instead, should create internal Lokpal to screen and admit only corrupt applicants like Kushwaha."
Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav also joined the chorus against the BJP and said, "After the BSP expelled Kushwaha, I wonder how the BJP inducted him in the party." He added that the SP has zero tolerance for corruption and stated, "Samajwadi Party has always maintained that it will not include tainted ministers in the party."
Another BJP leader, Maneka Gandhi also voiced her strong dissent on the party''s stand on the Kushwaha row. She commented, "We are angry with this decision. We have people who are honest and hard working."
