Mullaperiyar :Complaint against panel?
Kerala, Jan 2: Kerala is likely to make a complaint against the "unilateral" approach of the two technical members during their visit to the dam by the Supreme Court appointed Empowered Committee over the Mullaperiyar row.

Sources reveal that Kerala had boycotted the visit by two technical members - CD Thatte and DK Mehta for visiting the dam site on Dec 23.

A meeting of the empowered committee headed by Justice AS Anand, former CJU is expected to take place on Monday, Jan 2 in Delhi.

MK Parameswaran, cell chairman for Kerala's Mullaperiyar was asked to brief the ministers the details of the visit before the cabinet last week.

Kerala officials, however, stayed away from the visit of the technical members alleging that they did not hear from the state on their views over the dam's safety keeping in mind the recurrence of tremors in the area.

Thatte had earlier declined to pay attention to the Kerala officials' views during the inspection that was meant to give technical inputs to the Empowered Committee. [Read More: Major events, top news of 2011].
