AIADMK to decide next PM candidate? Jaya confident
Jayalalithaa was speaking during the party's general council meeting when she made the statements. She also issued a warning to the party members of stern action if ‘they are in touch with traitors.’
During the event, Jaya stated, “Days are not far off when AIADMK would go beyond Tamil Nadu and achieve great things at the national political arena."
Revealing
her
grand
plans
for
her
party,
she
said
that
the
time
is
ripening
again
for
the
party
to
decide
on
the
prime
ministerial
candidate
and
"we
will
be
there
in
the
next
government
at
the
centre."
She
also
called
the
party’s
golden
period
was
in
1998
when
it
extended
its
support
to
the
BJP
that
ultimately
led
to
Atal
Bihari
Vajpayee
becoming
the
Prime
Minister.
She added that the party workers need to work relentlessly and not to rest on the success at the assembly and local body elections. She said that more clout at the Centre will mean that decisions can be facilitated that will be favourable to the rights of Tamil Nadu.
The
occasion
also
saw
Jayalalithaa
make
a
veiled
reference
to
close-aide
Sasikala,
who
was
recently
expelled
from
the
party.
She
issued
a
warning
citing
those
having
connections
to
such
people
will
not
be
pardoned.
