The 72-year-old, Mas is in the center of controversy and is featured in the Interpol website. He is being sought for offenses concerning "life and health" in Costa Rica.
On Friday, France's Health Ministry had ordered the removal of the faulty implants made by now-bankrupt Poly Implant Prothese (PIP). They stated that though they did not pose any proven cancer risk, they could rupture dangerously causing grave health concerns.
It has been found that these faulty implants are being used by thousands of women across 65 countries. These implants are made by industrial quality silicone rather than medical quality. Most of the users of such implants live in South America and western Europe.
PIP had shut down and its products were banned last year after it was found that they have been using the non-authorised silicone gel.
